Thelma J. Handson was born February 13, 1963, to Ethel and Andrew Bogart in Goodwin, Arkansas.  At an early age, Thelma accepted Christ as her Lord and personal savior.  She was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Bogart, Sr.; two brothers, Mark A. Bogart and Darwin L. Bogart, Sr. and a nephew, Marc A. Bogart.

In her childhood years, Thelma attended Attucks Elementary and Lincoln Jr. High (where she was a Cobra), Northeast high School all of Kansas City, MO.  She also attended East High School where she graduated, before earning her cosmetology licenses at Heavenlin Beauty College.

Thelma was always stylish.  You could catch her in a pair of heels any day of the week.  She loved to shop and travel.  She had a few jobs throughout her life.  Her last employer was Park & Recreation of Kansas City, before having to retire due to falling health in 1999.

Thelma leaves behind: her mother, Ethel Lynch; two sisters, Shirley (A.C.) Levy and Vanessa Bogart-Nichols and Benita Roundtree all of KCMO; two brothers, Andrew (Sunshine) Bogart, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV and Terrance Fuller of Kansas City, MO; stepson, Talford Handson, Jr.; god children, Raleah Mitchell and FreJoane Wah and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousin, relatives and friends.

Services for Mrs. Handson will be held 5:00 P.M. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel. Private Disposition.  Friends may call from 3:30 P.M. until service time Saturday at the chapel.
