Thomas Lee Jordan entered this life January 28, 1937, to the union of Herbert Jordan, Sr. and Gertrude Oliver Jordan in Kansas City, MO.  He was the fifth of ten children born to this union.  He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Herbert Jordan, William Jordan and Eugene Jordan; two sisters, Gladys Watkins and Ella Mae Jordan; three nephews, Stephen Saunders, Kevin Jordan and Calvin Brooks; two nieces, Stephanie Saunders and Cynthia Spies.

Thomas attended Booker T. Washington Elementary school and graduated from Lincoln High School June 19, 1955.  After graduating he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. June 23, 1955.  He was honorably discharged April 4, 1958, with the Rank of Corporal.

Thomas was employed with the Kansas City Missouri Fire Department from May 1958, until his retirement in 1985, after 30 years of dedicated service as a firefighter.

After retirement he enjoyed fishing until his health failed.  Thomas also enjoyed watching his favorite sports team, The Kansas City Chiefs.

In 1958, Thomas was united in marriage with Jeanette Downs.  This union was later dissolved.  In 1961, he was united in marriage with Idelia Burch, raising her four children, Joe, Stephanie, Terry and Curtis.  To this union one son was born, Rodney Eric.  In the early 1980's, Thomas was united in marriage to Marzella Copeland until her untimely death in 2009.

Thomas Lee Jordan departed this earthly life on Monday, August 19, 2019.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Rodney of Santee, CA; one brother, Richard Jordan (Celia); three sisters, Laura Mae Bolder, Beverly Saunders (Wilfred) and Sandra Thurston (Maurice); sister-in-law, Betty Jordan all of KCMO; two grandsons, DeRod Jordan of St. Louis, MO and Rico Jordan of Warrensburg, MO; cousins, Laurice Moore, Lee Ann Thomas (Rudolph), Bernice Cason (William) and Patricia Oliver all of KCMO; 13 nieces and nephews; 23 great-nieces and nephews; 13 great-great-nieces and nephews; trusted friends, Tametha Johnson, Jason Tatum and Anthony Tatum; family of Tommy's loving companion Dorothy Tatum; Jade Tatum, Dorothy's granddaughter, whom he loved as if she was his own and the affection was returned and a host of family and friends.

Services for Mr. Thomas were held Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at E. E. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.  Burial Leavenworth National Cemetery.
