Timothy Glen Carr, Sr. passed away peacefully at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas on Sunday, December 10, 2023.  He was born March 18, 1958 in Wyandotte County, Kansas to the union of Helen Dudley and Edmond Carr.

Timothy received his Christian Training at Bales Temple Church of God in Christ in Kansas City, MO and later accepted the Lord and became a member of Wright Memorial Church of God in Christ of Kansas City, where he gave his life to Jesus.

He was the proud father of four sons, Timothy Carr, Jr. Edmond James Carr, Marcus Carr, and Vastine Carr.

Tim loved his family and his church family.  He was a faithful member at Wright Memorial Church in Sunday School and Worship Service until he was no longer able to attend in person.  He continued being a part of church worship services and bible studies over the phone.

He attended Greenwood Elementary School, Central Junior High School and Argentine High School, where he made many life-long friends.  Timothy was a talented baseball, basketball and football player and earned the nickname "hardnose" from his beloved Junior High School football coach.  He was known as one the most skillful street ball players to all the neighborhood basketball players.

Tim also loved to sing with the 26th and Monroe Street Quartet with his friends and neighborhood buddies. Later in life, bowling and cooking became some of his favorite hobbies.  He belonged to the Saturday Night Mixer, Monday Night Madness and Pot of Gold Bowling Leagues and was always working on that perfect score. He was also a great cook and was famous for his barbecue ribs, chicken wings and cheesy potatoes.  Timothy prepared many holiday feasts for his family and friends. He was ready to teach anyone how to master outdoor grilling, especially his sons.  His great ambition was to open a Barbecue and Soul Food Restaurant.

Tim began his work experience at 16 years of age, working several jobs before he was hired at Allis Chambers Manufacturing in his late teens.  Later, Tim took a job at the Sears Distribution Center where he made many friends and meet his lovely wife Earnestine Roberts.  He was employed at AirGas Medical for 12 years where he worked as a trainer and temporary manager.

Timothy married into a wonderful family that loved him and treated him like a brother. He enjoyed spending time with them in Farmersville, Texas on holidays showing off some of his grilling skills. When he became very ill and was no longer able to drive his faithful companions were his wife, Earnestine; his brother-in-law, Timothy "Timp" Roberts; "auntie" Rosie Roberts; and his son, Vastine; Tim's sisters, Helen and Sharon; and his nieces, Amber, Ashleigh, and Ariel loved being with him and helping to care for him during his illness.  He loved his great-niece, Alayna; and his nephew-in-law, Matt Renk who spent many holiday with him.  Our sweet Timothy will be sorely missed.  We know he is with the Lord Jesus.  Tim will be dearly missed by his church, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; younger brother, Mark Carr; and son, Edmond James Carr.

He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Earnestine Carr of Kansas City, KS; sister, Sharon Carr of Kansas City, MO; brother, Reginald Carr of Kansas City, MO; sister, Helen Shaw of Independence, MO; son, Timothy Carr, Jr. of Grandview, MO; son, Marcus Carr of Atlanta, GA; son, Vastine Carr of Kansas City, MO; uncle, Caswell Dudley of Raytown, MO; sister-in-law, Debra Heath (Richard) of McKinney, TX; sister-in-law, Sharon Roberts of Sherman, TX; brother-in-law, Christopher Roberts (Stephanie) of Farmersville, TX; brother-in-law, Timothy Roberts of Kansas City, KS; aunt-in law, Rosie Roberts; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
