Toby Jermayne Lee's Obituary
Toby Lee known to his friends and community as "Big Tobe" and often referred to as, "Juice."
Toby was a student of history but a lifelong learner of the African-American experience. He spent hours researching and discussing African-American history with friends and family. He understood African-American history and the importance of passing it on to future generations.
Toby was a key player on the legendary Ruskin High School football team of 1989. He was a member of the fame "Wall" the name given to the offensive and defensive line where the players were collectively larger than the offensive and defensive line of the Kansas Chiefs during that time. His dream was to complete a documentary of the Ruskin "WALL" and their unprecedented football season.
After high school Toby embarked on his passion and love for radio broadcasting, programming, and videography. In 2010, he established "Tight Vision Media" a televised platform in Dallas, Texas. He interviewed national and local celebrities to discuss a variety of topics including but not limited to community, entertainment, political, health and wellness issues.
He returned to Kansas City, Missouri and continued his work by creating a radio program entitled "Juice." This program centered on showcasing African-American entrepreneurs, car shows, and fashion shows. However, his enthusiasm focused on physical and mental fitness. He created a show named "Wisdom Teeth" where he invited physicians and health experts to discuss the benefits of eating holistically.
Toby was born November 22, 1971 to James and Jeanne Lee in Dallas, Texas. He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour, while attending Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship under the leadership of Dr. Tony Evans in Dallas, Texas. When he and his family moved to Kansas City, Missouri, he became an active member of the Paseo Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Charles J, Briscoe. He was an active participant of the youth group that was led by Ray and Robin McKelvy; who was assisted by Michael Randle, Lynda Randle, Andrew Williams, Dale Booker, Ronald Moore, Theresa Thompson, Velencia Boyd (Miss V), Sharon Sandifer Brown, and his mother Jeanne Tucker.
He attended elementary school in Dallas and middle and high school in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Ruskin High School in 1989. He next attended, North East Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) where he majored in Sociology. He later transferred to the University Arkansas Pine Bluff (UAPB) a Historical Black University and continued at Central Missouri State College (CMSU).
More than Toby's personal accomplishments he was a loving and caring son to Jeanne and Brent Tucker and James Lee and brother to James Tarryeon and Carla Lee, uncle to James Tarryeon Lee Jr. and Parker Lee, nephew to his aunts and uncles; P.K. Kirby, Charlene Bussey, Vickie Smith, Janet Lee, Marvin Johnson, Ricky and Reva Smith, Albert Lee, Hurdis "Pete" Bonner, grandson to Washington "Mr. Bud" and Rhonda Terry. Mrs. Carrie Porter, his spiritual grandmother who prayed for him on a regular basis. Ardell Jr. & Adair Fairley; his Little Brother and Sister. Also, close personal friends from Ruskin High School, and The "Juice" Program that is streaming live on KUAW Radio Station

Services for Mr. Lee will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Paseo Baptist Church. Burial XII Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the church and from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, July 27, 2018, at E. S. Eley & Sons Chapel.
