Rev. Tollie E. Stroud, known as (Buck by his family) was born on December 5th, 1924, in Centralia Oklahoma, to Hershel Stroud and Nodie Lee Crump.  Rev. Stroud was peacefully called home while in prayer on Thursday September 7th, 2023, in Kansas City Missouri.

The family relocated to Kansas City, Kansas in the mid 1940's.   Rev. Stroud bravely served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

Rev. Stroud married his love Hazel and they remained together for many years.  He often spoke highly of his stepsons James and Jarvis.

Tollie Stroud accepted Christ at an early age and the family united with Macedonia Baptist Church under Pastor Preston Allen Sr. in Kansas City Missouri.  He continued his membership there under the Pastor Preston Allen Jr. before moving to Emmanuel Baptist Church also located in Kansas City Missouri.

Rev. Tollie worked many years at Wonder Bread and after retirement he decided to continue staying active by driving his personal taxi, primary transporting people from the grocery store.

Rev. Stroud accepted the call to the ministry in the mid-1970s and was ordained at Emmanuel Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor W. H. White.  After a number of years in the ministry Rev. Stroud united with Rock of Ages Missionary Baptist Church in 1990 under the leadership of Rev. R. L. Holt and continued preaching for many years until his health would no longer allow; but even until the end he always encouraged others to get closer to the lord.

Rev. Stroud was blessed with the ability to lift the spirits of others.  His laughter, rhymes and wit could brighten up anyone's day.

He was preceded in death by both his father and his mother; his three brothers, William E. Stroud, Homer Stroud, and Hurshell Reese Jr.; and his stepfather, Hurshell Reese Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his sisters, Thelma Davis of Los Angeles, CA, Norma Elliott of Rowlett, TX, Nadine Hawkins of Georgia, Velma Reese of McKinney, TX, and Barbara Reese of Plano, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Please note that Rev. Tollie E. Stroud was truly loved by all and will truly be missed.
