V-Ethel Davis of Kansas City, Missouri was born in Dermott, Arkansas on December 21, 1937, to the parents of Viola McHenry Davis and Annais Davis, Sr. She was the tenth of eleven children born to this union.  Her parents preceded her in death along with five brothers and four sisters.

The family relocated to Kansas City, Missouri in 1947. V-Ethel professed a hope in Christ Jesus under the pastorage of Dr. Isaiah H. Henderson, Jr. at Friendship Baptist Church of Kansas City, Missouri. She was a seventy (70) plus year member. She was an active member in Sunday School, Baptist Training Union, Mary Circle of the Women's Missionary Union and the GAD Sheepfold.

V-Ethel attended and graduated from Manuel High School and R.T. Cole Vocational School, focusing on Dressmaking and Cosmetology trades.  She was employed with the University Health-Truman Hill Medical Center for thirty-nine (39) years.

V-Ethel departed this life and entered into eternity on March 1,2024 at St. Luke's Hospice House, surrounded by her family.

V-Ethel leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Hedy Davis and Valerie Andrews (Terry, Sr.); one step daughter, Monica Maddox (Larry, Sr.) of Chicago, Illinois; one brother, Deacon Eddie Davis (Cathey); sister-in-law, Barbara Davis (Saul); six grandchildren, Rev. Desmond Davis, Sr. (Kimberlyn), Tresa Davis, Sheena Harvey of Reno, Nevada, Terry Andrews, Jr., Veronica Marti (Lonnelle) and Edna McCrary (Mademba); ten great-grandchildren; and two great great-granddaughters, D'Kayla and Dior Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; the Davis, Dotson, King, and Moore families.
