Vann Eric Petway was one of five children born to the parents of Vann Earl Petway and Norma Louise Harper of Baltimore, Maryland.  Vann graduated from Blue Springs High School and upon completion he entered the United States Navy and retired after 20 years as an Aviation Electrician First Class.  After retirement, he earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration and transitioned into a new career as a Contract Specialist with the Veterans Affairs.

Vann leaves behind a daughter, Erica Nicole Petway of San Diego, California; two grandchildren, Adrian and Zayn Fletcher of San Diego, California; mother, Norma Louise Petway of Blue Springs, Missouri; one brother, Bryan Earl Petway of Chicago, Illinois; three sisters, Yvonne Denise Petway of the home, Florence Rochelle Petway of the home, and Silinda Yvette Eley of Lee's Summit, Missouri; nieces Vanessa Ragland and Victoria Bomar both of Lee's Summit, MO, Iylana Petway of Chicago, Illinois; niece, Justyce Petway and nephew, Tahrique Petway both of Kansas City, Missouri, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Service for Mr. Petway will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, February 13, 2020, at Concord Fortress of Hope Church.  Burial Leavenworth National Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until service time Thursday at the church.
