Velina Doris Stevenson , age 66, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022.  She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 14, 1956.

Both parents, Oddessa Stevenson and Andrew Stevenson; brother, Andrew Stevenson Jr.; and nephew, Johnnie Mitchell Jr. all have preceded her in death.

Velina was educated in thepublic schools of Kansas City, Missouri and attended Central High School.  She received her General Education Diploma.  She continued working with the Banking Industry for years.  She was currently working for the Union at the Internal Revenue Service of Kansas City, Missouri.

Velina is survived by her son, Monte (Kelly) Jones; nieces, Terrachel Mitchell and Jackie Mitchell; four nephews, Ezzard Mitchell, Jr., Michael Mitchell, Andrew Stevenson, and Allen-Michael Stevenson; three brothers, Rev. Dr. Ezzard Mitchell, Rev. John (Audrey) Mitchell, and Allen Stevenson; 10 grandchildren, Justin Kelly, Taiiyaon Wilson, Kiierhaon Wilson, Monteonna Wilson, Ashley Porter, Taelor Jones, Jailon Porter, Chania Jones, Monte Jones, Jr., and Ausha Jones; five great grandchildren, Malcolm Kelly, Allyssa Dunn, Kerhon Wilson, Kelhani Wilson, and Jaionna Anthony; six great nieces, Arriana Mitchell, Danielle Sigars, Jackeya Mitchell, Chazell Mitchell, Samone Wiggins, and Anna Stevenson; three great nephews, Myron Abbey, Tre Mitchell, Gatlin Stevenson; and special friend, Andy Brown.

Services for Ms. Stevenson will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.  Burial at Forest Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
