Verlon Lee Harden was born in time on July 24, 1964, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the union of Thomas V. Walker and Anna M. Harden. He was the fifth child of six children born to this union.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dusene Harden; parents, Thomas V. Walker and Anna M. Harden; grandmother, Marie C. Simpson; two sisters, Jocelyn M. Wash and Terissana "Teresa" A. Purnell; and brother, Roger L. Harden.

Verlon submitted his life to following Jesus Christ at an early age. He served faithfully at Highland Missionary Baptist Church.

Verlon received his education from D. A. Holmes Elementary School, Central Junior and Central High School. While attending Central High School, Verlon was a member of the Junior ROTC. This inspired him to serve his country and join the Missouri National Guard.

Verlon attended Job Corp where his certification was in demolition. He was employed in the field of Environmental Services and worked as a driver with the Yellow Cab Company.

Verlon so dearly loved his family and friends and loved going to family gatherings. He enjoyed watching western movies and playing games on his phone and playing chess.

Verlon never met a stranger. He was a father figure, brother, uncle and friend to all with whom he came in contact. His smile would light up any room he entered.

Verlon entered into eternity on September 6, 2025.

He is survived by siblings: brother, Darrell W. Harden; sister, Connie L. Harden, all from Kansas City, Missouri; Debra Williams, Kevin Elbert, Larry "Buck" Tapp and Robin Tapp, all of Columbia, Missouri; and daughter, Tapetha Wilkins of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends spanning four generations.
