Walter V. Dunn, Jr., age 43, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, after a courageous and inspiring battle with cancer. His liver was damaged beyond repair.  He was blessed with a new liver but, sadly his body had fought for too long and too hard. Born on December 13, 1982, Walter lived a life defined by faith, love, strength, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those he cared about.

Walter was the beloved son of Victor Dunn and Gail Hoskins, a devoted husband to Keisha Dunn, and a proud and loving father to his daughter, Jazlyne, who was the light of his life. He was also a cherished brother to Crystal, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who were blessed to know and love him.

A faithful believer in God and the love of the Lord, Walter's faith carried him through life's greatest challenges and helped him inspire countless others along the way. Even during his difficult battle with cancer, he remained strong, determined, and hopeful. His courage in the face of adversity was nothing short of remarkable. Walter showed everyone around him what it meant to keep fighting, to keep believing, and to never give up, even when life became incredibly difficult. His strength will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Walter had a passion for basketball, video games, and the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game. Whether he was cheering on his favorite team, challenging friends and family in a game, or building the perfect deck, he brought enthusiasm and joy to everything he did.

He was known for his kindness, generosity, and willingness to help anyone in need. Walter was always there for his family and friends, offering support, encouragement, a listening ear, or simply a reason to smile. His presence brought comfort, and his friendship was a gift to many.

Of course, no remembrance of Walter would be complete without mentioning his legendary purple Monte Carlo. That car was impossible to miss and earned plenty of laughs over the years. Many joked that it looked like Barney the Dinosaur had traded in his feet for wheels. Walter embraced the jokes with his trademark sense of humor, proving that laughter could always be found, no matter the situation.

Walter's legacy is one of love, faith, perseverance, and compassion. He touched countless lives through his actions, his heart, and his example. Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we take comfort in knowing that his suffering has ended and that he is now resting peacefully in the presence of the Lord he loved so dearly.

He leaves behind a family who adored him, friends who will miss him deeply, and a legacy that will never be forgotten.
