William Brown Jr. "Brother" was born on December 1, 1950, in Kansas City, Kansas to Odessa Hodge Brown and William C. Brown Sr.  He departed this life on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, under Hospice Care due to complications from a massive stroke.

William graduated from East High School and was drafted into the United States Army on January 25, 1971. During his service to our nation, he received the National Defense Service Medal.  William's specialty position as a Military Police Officer opened the door for him to become a Military Detective.  He was a very proficient sharpshooter and an expert with the hand grenade.  William joined the Army National Guard after his active duty tour and received an Honorable Discharge.

William worked in a variety of positions - Truck Driver, Heavy Machine Operator, and Maintenance for over 30 years. In his life, he mastered every trade possible.

He is survived by: his children, Marquetta Brown, Frances Brown, April Brown Barnett (William); grandchildren, Antanayia Brown, Malachi Brown, Isaiah Brown, Eli Brown , Aquilah Davis, Jeremiah Young, Karter Brown, William Barnett III, Aaleigha Barnett, Joshua Barnett and Mariya Barnett; siblings, Patricia Mooney, Marshall Brown Sr. (Linda), Donald Brown (Tabitha), Ronald Keith Brown, Elaine Tammy Moore (Dale), Douglass Perkins and Lee Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

William was preceded in death by both parents, William and Odessa Brown; his loving Daughter, Jamila McClelland; brother-in-law, Adolphus Mooney Jr., and several other family members.

Services for Mr. Brown will be held 3:00 P.M, Saturday, March 20, 2021, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.  Burial Leavenworth National Cemetery 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 23.  Friends may call from 2:00 P.M. until service time Saturday at the chapel.
