William Oliver Love, Jr. was born on August 2,1942 to the union of Lucille Jackson and William Oliver Love, Sr. in Aurora, Illinois. He was the oldest of eleven children born to this union.  He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Raphael Love and Darryl Love.

William was educated in the Aurora, Illinois School District.  He graduated from East Aurora High School in 1960. After high school, he attended college and later, he moved to Kansas City, Missouri.

William pursued a career in culinary arts. This new skill allowed him opportunities to work various jobs over the years: Embassy Suite, Crown Center, Kansas City Club, Loch Lloyd, Finnigans Hall, and Success Meals.

William accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at a young age.  He rededicated his life to Christ at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church in 2006 under the leadership of Pastor Leonard Butler.

William was a Free and Accepted Mason.

William was a great athlete in high school.  He excelled in track and field as a sprinter.

William loved playing the Congo drums, singing, fishing, dancing, live music, reading, going to church and being an avid gardener.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

William was the originator of the song "Shemi, Shemi, Cocoa pop".

William entered into eternity on August 23,2023 at St. Luke's Hospital East.

He leaves to cherish his memory: Wife of 33 years, Cynthia Love; one Son, William Oliver Love, III (Fantasy); one daughter, Raphael Janet Love; five grandsons, Jeremiah Love, Neako Padilla, Tyson "Mason" Knight, Corey Knight, Chace Love; one granddaughter, Nami Love; two brothers, Michael Love (Hazel) and Theodore Love; six sisters, Deborah Meeks, Stephanie House ,Renee Jones (Shelby), Dorothy Love, Wendy Love, Sue Love; and a host of other family and friends.
