William "Henry" Young was born on July 21, 1964, to Dorothy Jean Young and Marcus Young in Ripley, Tennessee. He and his parents relocated to Kansas City at 2 years of age.

"Henry" as his family affectionately called him accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Fellowship Baptist Church of Kansas City, Missouri. His love for gospel music later encouraged him to become a member of the New Life Spiritual Temple choir.

William attended school in the Kansas City, Missouri school district and was employed by that same district at one point of his career path. Before his illness "Henry" lived life to its fullest. He enjoyed his family and friends who he often viewed as family. His love for people in general left him knowing very few strangers.

"Henry" jokingly shared with his family that his initials spelled the word "WHY"...a question he lived his life defining until the day he peacefully left us.

William leaves to cherish his memory; his mom Dorothy J. Young, his daughter Desiree' Horton (Dominique), Three Granddaughters Eionna Horton, Emoni Horton, and Adaiyah Horton, two brothers Johnnie Manney (Wonda), Alfred Macklin (Gwen), two sisters Burnette Manney, Denetra Pouncil (Mark) and a host of nieces and nephews who he lovingly created individual nicknames for from the oldest to the youngest, as well as friends and love ones.
