Mr. Willie J. Barnes was born March 22, 1946, in Readland, Arkansas to Dolly Aiken and Ed Hunley.  He was preceded in death by both parents preceded him in death five sisters, three brothers and a grandson.

Willie moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1976, where he lived until he departed this earthly body on Friday, July 31, 2020.

Willie was a fun and loving spirit that enjoyed life and touched so many hearts, including many childhood friends in Arkansas.  He was employed with various employers until he retired from the Hyatt Regency Hotel in 2010 in 2010.  He was honored as employee of the year at least three times and won a trip to Hawaii.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory: Sarah Hampton, Life partner; three daughters, Rochell Hampton, Bettina Hampton and Willetta Barnes; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Services for Mr. Barnes will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 15, 2020, at E. S .Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.  Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. until service time Saturday at the chapel.
