Willie Mae Levels Powell was born in Morrilton, Arkansas, Conway County, July 9, 1923, to Willie and Margie Levels.  She was the oldest of five children, Ira Lee, Buss and Maybell.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Forbush and Powell; sons, Gregory, Herbert, Glenn and John Jr.; both parents; a brother, Buss and sister, Maybell Pannel.

She was educated in the Little Rock School District.  Willie Mae moved to Kansas City and united with Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor I. H. Henderson, Jr.  She served on the usher board and Senior Exercise group choir.  She always spoke of Christ ad truly loved the Lord.

Willie Mae married John Forbush and to this union five children were born, John Jr., Marva Louis, Gregory, Herbert and Glen.

She was a domestic worked for many years.  She had a giving heart, a positive spirit and loved to have a good time shopping and fixing up dresses.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Marva Wilson of Kansas City, MO; brother, Ira Lee Levels of Wichita, KS and a host of grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Services for Mrs. Powell will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 2, 2020, at Friendship Baptist Church.  Burial XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 9:00A.M. until 10:30 A.M. Friday at the church.
