Willie Curtis Murray, Sr. was born June 15th, 1947 in West Point, Mississippi to the union of Winston and Rosia E. Murray.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy V. Murray; father, Winston Murray; mother, Rosia E. Murray; aunt, Lilah Mae Harrison; brothers, Rudy (Ella) Murray Sr. and Marvin (Anita) Murray Sr.; and grandson, Rashad Taylor.

Willie was a believer in God. He attended New Horizon Missionary Baptist Church (3601 Indiana, Kansas City, MO). He attended Manual High School in Kansas City, MO. Although he had a partial high school education, he attended school at Vatterott & Sullivan Education Center in his 30's. He graduated with a certificate in A/C & Refrigeration, which he used along with a multitude of other skills to start a HVAC & Home Improvement business...a business that lasted well into his 60's.

He leaves to cherish his memories three sisters, Genia (Louis) Palmer, Barbera A. Bradley, and Penny (Robert) Lee; one daughter, Denise Williams; three sons, Rodney J. Taylor, Michael Taylor, and Willie C. Murray Jr.; a special friend, Barbara Clark; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
